The sketch for the Freshly Made Sketches this week is a fun one. I went ahead and made I couple but chose this one for the challenge. I just got a new set from a company I'd never heard of before, Dadacrafts. I have always loved Hibiscus plants and now that I'm living in South Florida, I get to enjoy them all the time. When I saw this set with the flowers I knew it had to be mine, I got it from Amazon and it was under $10.00 for a 12 piece set which include some lovely sentiments as well.
The hibiscus was first embossed with white EP then water colored with Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, and Mowed Lawn all Distress inks. I wasn't happy with the leaves so I added a little Mossy Meadow from Stampin' Up. The sentiment from the same set was heat embossed with black EP. A I layered it on a retired piece of DSP from Stampin' Up, It was all layered on Daffodil Delight. I still thought it needed something so I pulled out a few gold sequins and that was it. The hibiscus was fussy cut and popped up on dimensionals.
Happy Stampin'
